  1. :-? Hi all was wondering how to get rid of snails in a saltwater reef tank
  2. what interesting lot of suggestions and a huge debate!....It was a madarin my firend lost as well as a sea anenome! He doesnt want to lose his corals!
  3. Hi A friend has developed whitespot in a reef tank with corals....lost his aneome(spelling) and has lost a madarin....... he thinks due to a 3 deg temp rise..... any help out there
  4. I tried several of the normal algae rids but didn't touch a single hair on this algae...... is certainly dying off now
  5. oh well we live and learn.......our local petshop didn't know anything about the florish so it was entirely trial and error.... and my stupid miscalculation.
  6. I miscalculated the litres in my tank and dosed the tank 5 times too much. I lost everything except my keyholes, fighters, bristlenose and kuhli loaches.....grrrrrrrrr....anyway have rescued these poor fish and seem to be coping...... The algaew has gone a greyish colour so guess it is dying....should I retreat with the flourish....would really like to get rid of it before re-entering the fish...I should I clean it off the glass?
  7. I have ordered the flourish excell and it is due in either tomorrow or friday.......... Thank You all so much for for your ideas. I will try this and let you know how we go........ Cheers Rona
  8. Thanks for that,I welcome any ideas, Perhaps Caryl you can tell me whether we can get the Siamese algae eaters from locally and what are the cory's? would be keen to try.
  9. Unfortunately haven't got my camera for a couple of weeks, and yes there are live plants in there...leaves are ok the stems covered in this horrible algae
  10. Hi Am hopingsomeone can help.... I have a horrible muddy coloured algae in my tank.....grows like a fur over the plants rocks & ornaments and when on glass is like a spore...I have over the last few months ajusted lighting every which way, have tried algae treatments even with turning the filter off for 24 hours...... it just keeps on growing!.....Is something the algae eaters and pleco won't touch. HEEELLLLLP
  11. Thanks.... These are new fish having been added to the tank.
  12. for all your answers lol mine is a freshwater tank but is for a friends whose is a saltwater....... any further suggestions will be helpful
  13. ok...how do you treat.....as I said was asking for a friend lol I don't know anything about saltwater tanks...... can you use same stuff as tropicals for saltwater white spot
  14. Is it possible for a blue tang to have white spot......? or is it stress asking on behalf of friend.
  15. Hi Spooky.... Perhaps you could do what I did when moving house and had a 3 week intervention between Houses. I took 50% of the tank water and put into 20 litre containers Put the fish in one to transport and then drained the whole tank... moved the whole lot. You can put heater in the water container as well. Good opportunity to give tank major clean as well. It seemed like a major before we did it but went smoothly and was quite easy. Good luck.
