Wanting to know of some cool fish to put in my 40l planted tank?
I had 1 plakat fighter, some rasboras and neons. But the neons and rasboras went in the discus tank. And im gna take the fighter out. So its going to be fish free so any ideas on what I could put in there would be great.
thanks
Tiger Barbs are very beautiful to look at. They are like to prowl behind plants, just like the real predator.

otherwise what would a good diy kit be? I can solder and so don't mind I just want to get the best bang for my buck
I trawled through lots of forums and shops and found this to be the best bang for buck.
The whole unit in housed in a full aluminium casing to disperse the heat.
The material alone is well worth the money, you will not get any more better value.

thanks for that what plants are you growing under it and how deep is your tank? I only ask as I couldn't find any real information on it.
I bought it for my reef tank, the LEDs are dimmable so you can adjust the intensity.
I am only running at about 60% of the lights.
The tank size is W80 x H55 x D38

I bought my LED lights from this site.
Arrived within 5 working days via DHL.
No hassles, just plug in and go.

I think he's got ice blues not electric blues. Ice blues are an mbuna and electric blues are haps. The dems get to around the 10cm mark, ice blues about 14cm electric yellows around the 12cm mark approximately. How big are these fish now? Even a 120 litre tank is small. The dimensions of the tank are more important than the volume of the tank.
They are juveniles, 2cm-4cm in size still very tiny. I have only ever had guppies and sword tails so have no idea how large these are going to get. I am prepared for it, will be looking for a 4-6 foot tank by then. Tempting to get more to resolve their aggressive territory nature, but will like for these fellas to get a bigger before I cross that bridge.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you will need a 4ft tank at least to house your cichlids long term. Demasoni are hyper aggressive and need to be in groups of 20 not 4 to spread out the aggression.Think ice blues get pretty nasty to. 62liters isn't gonna cut it. Have a look in the "cichlid" section on here, heaps of good info.
Not bad news~ Means I am looking forward to getting myself a bigger tank!
I already have a empty 120 Litre tank on standby!
Have just cleared out the garage , so have lots of room for more tanks.

Maybe it is a good question to ask how big they grow? :nilly:
I can rehouse them it a bigger tank when that time comes.
6-12 months of so before they out grown their current tank?

Hi All, I have just started my first Cichlids tank.
The tank is a Jebo R760 , 62 Litres tank. I have upgrade the factory fluorescent lighting.
There are two settings, I use the 10000K white LED during the day and the Actinic Blue 460nm LED during the night.
4x Demasoni
5x Electric Yellow
5x Ice Blue
I am posting images for the first time, so I hope this works!

Wow! is the word! Great setup!
I am just starting out with a nano tank.
Have bought all the hardware and will be setting it up this weekend.
Can I ask you for a supplier for the corals rocks?
Next is how long I should wait be fore I introduce live corals into the tank?
Thank you.

Hi Mate, nice setup. I am now following it your guide and buying the gear accordingly.
I am wondering why you choose to build your own skimmer rather than buy the factory Dymax IQ5 Mini Skimmer?
First time building a Marine tank, all excited!
and the wife doesn't know it yet~
