I have a Juwel Korall 60 fish tank which I am intending to turn into a planted tropical tanks, however as I've never done a planted tank before I would like a bit of advice. We have a cold water tank but have not kept any plants apart from an occasional bit of oxygen weed. I am intending the tank to have a few Pristella tetra and a Siamese Fighting fish (Adding the fighter last) and I would like advice on suitable plants. I would like to have sand on the bottom, is just sand OK or does something else need to be added? In regards to plants, having never had a planted aquarium, what sort of plants might be good for a beginner? I have read a little about CO2, is this essential? If so what is the best way to add it to the aquarium? Would it be worth upgrading the light in the tank? Thanks for any advice.
