If theres something I want I will offer a certain price and ask for a buy now, also, when you click add to watchlist, just underneath there is an option to receive a text or email reminder, or otherwise just put the bid on when you see it and want it, and use the autobid feature.

My friendly neighborhood New World is holding onto some poly boxes for me to pick up this afternoon. I will leak test them tonight and then just put the water and fish straight into the box/es tomorrow night.

Will see if I can source a poly box by Wednesday. Thanks for your tips guys

If i am transporting fish i use sealed buckets, dont feed for at least 24hrs beforehand and not too many fish per container
I'm thinking 6 bags of five fish?
The seller is rather vague, called them 'tiger tropical fish' and said there is about 30 but it fluctuates. In the picture I can't make out any fish so planning is a little difficult.
-
The usual rule of thumb is some where between 1/3 and 1/2 water, the rest air, is your chilybin clean/water tight enough to just add them directly to that, and not use bags?
Unfortunately the bin isn't suitable to use like this, and the road I will be driving is somewhat winding, surely the sloshing would be unpleasant for them?. That and having them in bags means I can move them bag by bag rather than trying to carry the whole container

I know there are a few threads about this, but from my looking I have some specific questions.
I've just bought a tank, and need to transport 'about 30 fish'. I think they are tiger barbs but don't actually know for sure.
I'll be driving for about an hour, with a half hour each end for moving the tank. My plan is to put them into zip lock sandwich bags, then put the bag inside a chilli box.
How many fish should I put in each bag and how much water do I need per bag?
Any other tips

This is a great deal at the moment in my opinion:

Smaller than the Kmart one but it should be a lot nicer to use
This would be a really nice tablet but it is a jump in price over the Kmart one: http://www.noelleeming.co.nz/shop/compu ... 22668.html
At the end of the day all android tablets will 'do' the same things, but the better brands will do it a lot smoother, probably better battery life, clearer screen etc. I guess what's important to me may not be the same as what's important to you, so I would recommend trying some in person and pay attention to the picture quality, see what the build quality feels like etc
-
I've got a bit of experience with tablets and other android devices, and in my experience, a $300 tablet will be 2 or 3 x nicer to use than a Cheaper brand $200 or less tablet.
If I were looking at a new tablet today there are. Bunch of great entry level devices from Samsung, Acer, HP etc that in my experience are much nicer than any of the no-name-brands.
The more well known brands tend to have more software updates as well which is good.
Have a look at the 7 inch options at somewhere like noel leemings. I've got a ten inch tablet but I think I will go for a 7 or 8 inch next time.

Could you build sump of sorts for it? I.e A 3 litre bottle with a pump will dramatically increase the water volume. Not so the space but at least the water should be easier to maintain.

What kind of vehicle do you use to transport 1000l?

15min drive from my house is the larger brackish water mossy and they breed in the millions in these rock pools. One net and i've got to much, use old bloodworm plates to re-freeze into mossy squares.
Care to share location ?

hell yeah its fun to drive, imagine a go cart with a 1.5L engine... can't wait to start playing with the power output it is the way I drive it
damn missus thinks its hers though
1.5l model? Very easy to convert to 1.8 motor from integra.
I saw you posted on NZHondas as well, spend some more time on there there's massive info for making Honda's go faster.

Is it an electric top model?

Hey team, saw this today, seems like a bargain:
Tank
Stand
External Filter
Light setup
Heater
I think it was about 180litres?
** note, I dont work for animates or anything so cant tell you anymore about it, but thought it was worth sharing.

Thanks, teach me for adding tags manually

Finally took a pic of the tank to put online.
hope that works?
Anyway, current occupation - 1 young Bristlenose.
Previously had a guppy which up and disappeared and a betta which passed away due to an accident
Looking to re-add a betta, or maybe something else?
-
Stopped in today as I needed a net.
Definitely improving stocks, saw today
An arowana at $129. Tried to take a pic on my phone but no dice
Gold? And dark Oscars ( I've never seen these as juveniles, they look funny when small.)
Severums.
As well as ciclids, guppies, mollys, axolotls, goldfish.
Sales guy said their breeder is big into bettas so they expect to have plenty in the future.

So it looks like I'm getting the tank replaced. After aqua one saw the pics, they were like "oh, I don't like the look of that"
So I'm going to take this as an opportunity to rescape my tank..
Wanting to use 1" of dalton's aquatic mix and then 2" sand on top, not sure if I want black or white though.
Also, as I have never used sand before, is there a certain type of sand to buy? Are there any sands with a low silicate level, to avoid brown spot algae?
Great result

When dealing with the retailer, remember they likely have people all the time who have animals become poorly or plants die or other faults that people will try and blame on them, as there are a lot of people out there that do not u derstand the pets they have.
They have a right to be sure it is in fact a manufacturer issue before offering any resolution, cooperate with them I their enquiries. I've never dealt with aqua one directly but I'm sure if the product is in fact at fault that they or the retailer would put it right.
Jumping up and down ( screaming down the phone for example) at the first hint of an issue and threatening to advertise a fault that they haven't even had a chance to examine is ridiculous and unfair, and the exact reason that retailers will push back in the first place.
Remember at this point all they know is 'black stuff growing on the silicone' so their initial response seems pretty reasonable to me.
That being said, if they can't offer any reasonable explanation even with photos or observation, then if need be, reminding them politely of their obligations under the consumer guarantees act will likely get the right outcome.

If hiding he's doing a very very good job of it. There is a piece of driftwood with gaps underneath, the driftwood is attached to some plastic tucked under the gravel so will require partial dismantle of the layout. Lucky it's Sunday, going to be a exciting day :-)
Joining a few pieces of driftwood together

I used a dowel of sorts to join two piece together once. It was two flat surfaces so I drilled a hole into each, jammed a smooth stick into one hole and pushed the other piece down onto it. It held well. You could also drill small hole right through each and tie them together with nylon maybe?
