  1. Will check rates, cheers. Does fish-street only supply those three items, as I'll probably need connectors etc... How did you connect it to your bulkhead? If the loc-line is 3/4 inch (19mm) and my bulkhead hole is 25mm, who do I fix that?
  2. Ah cheers, the name was what I was after. Found these site as well, seem to have a large range: http://aquariumsupplies.marinedepot.com/search?w=loc%20line&modaf=null http://www.petstore.com/Aquarium_Loc_Line_Fittings_Return_Tubes-AQPLLL-ct.html
  3. Cheers Zayne, I went to Mastertrade and got the fittings/bulkheads I needed. Next questions is where do I get these things from?
  4. Believe it of not, Mico Plumbing doesn't 2x Bulkhead for 40mm holes 2x Bulkhead for 32mm holes PVC to come later. Cheers, will try them tomorrow.
  5. Just wondering where to get these items? Have tried Bunnings, Mico Plumbing, Pool/Spa Place so far, but can't find what I'm looking for.
  6. Hi Guys, Setting up a marine tank, just wondering what are the most basic tests I need to be performing on my water (just about to start the cycle process). So far, looking at: Ammonia Nitrate Nitrate Ph Will I need anything else and what else will I need to test for when I add fish? Cheers Dave
  7. Hi Guys, Just wondering how I can work out the water movement requirements for marine tank? 1000w x 600d x 500h. I've heard TUNZE are a good brand, would I need 2x of these? http://www.hollywoodfishfarm.co.nz/detail/view/tunze-nanostream-6045/m/966/ (For aquariums from 100 to 500 litres Flow rate: 4,500 l/h)
  8. Zayne, I'm about to buy one of those units. What extra did you need to order apart from the unit itself and what came with it? I'll just be using by laundry sink to fill.
  9. 1000w x 600d x 500h with built in overflow and drilled holes for 2 x drains, 2 x returns.
  10. Back again with another question: I'm settled on a tank size of 1000w x 600d x 500h. Comes with built in overflow, should work out around 250L Does anyone have any objections to this size/shape and is it appropriate for a small - medium marine build? Cheers Dave
  11. Cool, thanks for the update.
  12. I have a question regarding cycling dead rock. I'm still at the very early stages of planning a marine tank and was wondering if I could cycle the rock before I had the lights? I was planning on putting the water in and starting the process, ordering the lights and chucking them on in a month or two when they arrive from the US (LED's) Would that be OK? Also, would I need powerheads to move the water and do I need a protein skimmer during the cycling process (trying to figure out what I need to pay for up front)? Cheers Dave
  13. Thanks Sophia, must have skipped over that post. Will search more thoroughly next time. Cheers Dave
  14. Hi There I was directed here by Aquaworld, they said someone here would be able to build a tank + overflow? Is there such a person and if so, what price would I be looking at for a 250L tank? Cheers Dave
  15. Couple more questions: - Wheres the best place to get RO/DI water and/or is there an alternative? - What kind of power bill increase will I be looking at for a reef system? Cheers
  16. Cheers Joe, was looking at metal halide, but LED sounds like a valid option. Where in NZ would I buy them from?
  17. Hi Adrienne, Thanks for your kind words, I've found this forum very friendly and helpful so far, so I hope that continues and I hope to eventually be able to contribute back some day. Our focus is primarily on the fish's well being, so we're happy to get good quality gear and not skimp, we're also taking our time before committing to anything before we're happy we know what we're doing. Thanks again.
  18. Hi guys, I appreciate the replies, thanks. I'm taking my time and I do understand the amount of work/time/expense involved and I'm happy to do things properly. Thanks for the link rosco, I've been checking out heaps of vids and online material. :bounce:
  19. Thanks for this, but I'm a little confused. I'll be doing a sump, but want to know the difference between plumbed in (part of the tank) and just the ones that hang over the edge.
