.. they are only small and not looking very colourful at the mo but looking forward to them maturing and colouring up. Any advice appreciated. They will be in there with 2 mollies, neons, glow lights, 1 penguin tetra, 1 pleco & a chones algae eater. Planning on moving the 2 mollies to my other tank with another molly and danios. Z

Hi Dave - you are the betta guru from what I can tell - just wanting to know if you can keep mollies with bettas? I've had a change around with my tanks. I have 1 male sailfin, 1 dalmation, & a white female. I was hoping to put these three in my Jebo 380 and put in a betta with them. I was speaking to the lady at world of water in te rapa and they said you were their breeder/supplier. If the asnwer is yes, can I get a purple one from you? PM me if I can - I don't want to get told off again! Z

Ha ha - he has been fine for weeks - this has only been happening in the last week.

My male sailfin molly has been acting strangely! For about a week he has been going down to the bottom of the tank and hiding behind the drift wood. He hides there for ages and then comes out. He is displaying quite nicely when he comes out. What/ why is he doing that?!!!!!!! Anyone know?! Z

Just wanting to know!!!!!! Because I know they are both livebearers and I don't want mutant fish!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Owen. I was wondering about the danios - I was thinking when I got the rams I would put them into the small tank with the mollys. The AO620 is 90litres, I'm not sure bout the 380 but I'm guessing about half of the 620.

Mysticvampire - done a bit more reserach - looks like it is what you say (of course I hear you wisper!!!!!!). So I'm hoping it is ok with my danios, mollys & platy at the mo until I have my fish move around (see freshwater question for combination query!). Thanks. Z

I've had a look but mine seems a little more pink on the body than definately silver & black......?

I'm really hoping for some good advice as I currently have some fish in a plastic bag floating in my tank! A friend dropped off the fish because they are moving today and could not take them! I have the following at the moment: AO620 - 8 danios, 3 mollys, 1 bristelnose AO38- - 4 glowlights & 4 neons, 1 chines algae eater (the pink kind) In the plastic bag are - 1 neon, 1 penguin tetra, 1 platy, 1 bristlenose & 1 other unamed fish I was hoping to do the following: AO620 - all tetras, 2 bolivian rams (to be bought), 2 bristlenoses, 8 danios AO380 - 3 mollys, 1 platy, 1 chinese algae eater Can anyone tell me if this is ok? I also really love bettas & dwarf gourmis so if I can fit them in somehow that would be good! Really needing some advice asap! I've asked for help on the beginners forum before but still been a bit confused about combinations! Thanks in advance, Z

PS You need to put something like danios or mollys in your tank. They are hardy fish that will get the bacteria in your tank developing. Add fish SLOWLY. Do your research and don't necessarily trust your local fish shop - sometimes they just want to sell you stuff! Z

It's my not very experienced understanding that neons are no good for new aquariums. They apparently like mature ones. I did the same thing when I started. But now i know about cycling. I lost quite a few tetras before I found this site!

Thanks for that info lmsmith. water changes not a problem. My water ph is a little on the high side and I have to work quite hard to get it down. There is already a large piece of wood in there. Is there a natural way of bringing down the ph that I could put in my tank? OK so I give up on the puffers - maybe one day!!!!! Would my mollys be able to stay in my 620 with the rams? If I could keep the mollys int the 620 I could transfer the danios and get a betta to put in with them!

Oh and here are some photos if this helps - hope the photos work! http://images2c.snapfish.com/232323232% ... 4%3Avq0mrj http://images2c.snapfish.com/232323232% ... 3B53vq0mrj http://images2c.snapfish.com/232323232% ... 3A35vq0mrj Just had look - I see my photos are very small!

I have spent hours reseraching - it's becoming obsessive - I think I may have caught the bug!!!!!!! Would this work? AQO620 - 90L/19G Ph 7-7.3 25% water changes once per week 2x Bolivian rams (done lots of reading - they sound cool -real character). I've seen the balloom ram but understand they are a mutant. I like the blue rams but they sound more difficult! 1x bristlenose 5x neon tetras 4x glowlight tetras would this then be fully stocked? AQO380 - change to brackish water (but I'm not sure how to do this) 3x mollies maybe my dream of fig 8 puffers?!!!!!!!! what about the danios? my betta aspirations might have to take a back seat? could I put my mollies in the 620 with the combination I gave above? I also really love those blue tuxedo guppies! Lots of questions I know! Thanks in advance for the help (hopefully)

I have 2 tanks. One is an Aqua One 620 containing, 1 silver sailfin male molly, 1 dalmation female molly, 1 silver molly, 8 danios,1 small brsitlenose. Other tanks is a 380 and contains 4 glow light tetras, 4 neons, 1 algae eater (the pinky orange kind!). I am really aiming for some colour and interest! I am happy to move fish etc but would like some recommendations for fish combos. I only started with my first aquarium because I loved neons!!! I would love a betta. I change about 25% of the water once a week. I really like the colours red, blue & green if that helps with what people recommend!

so I can't put a male in my tank?
-
oops - sorry - I didn't mean to. Wasn't really thinking - just excited about the prospect about getting a fighter?!
-
If I get a female fighter and at a later point get a male fighter will that be ok? They would be going in with 2 female mollies, 1 sailfin male molly & 8 danios.
-
How about a red & blue one?!
-
Yaeh I did go there but they seemed to have almost 'dirt' on their head? So I'm presuming your green ones would be expensive?!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or is it that they are just not ready?!
-
Thanks David. I don't really want to spend that type of money - I was looking for just a simple and relatively cheap fighter! I'm still a beginner! Let me know if you have what I am looking for! A green one would be fantastic!
-
is that the $100 white one?!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was hoping i could just buy one straight from you!
