I've just set up a tank, it's 60x30x30cm and has a Ehiem 2008 filter and will get regular maintenace .. but I'd like to get a bottom feeder or alegae feeder to help keep the tank spotless. So I need suggestions on one that you think is best and one that won't outgrow my tank too quickly - if at all. I saw a Pygmy Cory in Organism today and fell in love. But I get the feeling it won't be big enough to clean up after my fish? And I'm probably more inclined to get a fish that will eat any alegae that crops up.
I currently have 10 Neon Tetras and a female fighter but would like to get a couple of Platy's along with the bottom feeder too. I'm also thinking of planting the tank, I've got a couple of bunches of Java Fern and a ball of Java moss in there at the moment but definitely want some more plants.
Also, with the fish numbers I mention above, would there be any room for more? The lady at my LFS said I could maybe get another female fighter along with a male but I don't know.
Another thing - what temperature should I keep this tank at? Again, the lady at the LFS said she keeps hers with similar fish at 30 to keep diseases at bay but would that be too hot? It's currently at about 29 and the heaters set at 28 and the fish seem to be happy.
Cheers, Jo
