  1. Unfortunately, I beleive the species has gone to the fisheaven, over the time I did get eggs from another three or four specieses.

When I was active, I had more than ten different speices, but the slam I got back then, did stop my interest in keeping killies, some memberes of the NZKA even surgested at the time I should resign from NZKA, and you know those members did get both eggs and fish from me.

  2. You are so right, I offered my entire fish room with some 30 tanks to members, and will you believe it, not one came forward, so the lot went to the dump, because I had sold my house to move into an apartment.

In my fish keeping time, I bread heaps of fish and offered them to members for next to nothing.

I do hope as before mentioned, that someone will take over, I for my part is no longer interested.

The NZKA membership will only cost you $15.00 per year, if you are a member of a club paying your FNZAS capitation fee which is $10.00 per year.

In the event you need further details or information, please feel free to contact me.

  4. Hi jc360,

In this outside container I have 4 males and 10 females approxmately, soon there will be another 3 pairs from my fish room.

I raise the fry in a plastic container 150mm X 300mm X 100mm high, and I always use an oxygen tablet in with them for the first month or so, this is to avoid "belly sliders" I was told to do so by a freind in Denmark.

I then transfer them to a similar container without the peat, again the oxygen tablet and a couple of snails, the snails will eat any left over food.

The fry will take Brine Shrimp from the beginning, but I always give them green water the first week, just to make sure the smalest fry get food.

    Hope this helps.
