I buy my veges from an organic market so we just wash it. When I worked in restaurants we use to soak our lettuce in salted water to get rid of any bugs and then wash it again in fresh water. :bounce:

Thanks We tried dropping spirulina tablets from our local pet store into the tank but the fish went for them more than the snails. Im gonna try the cucumber though. Thanks for your help

We have 4 Apple snails and 3 rather large Goldfish in our tank. We have found it hard to keep up plant supplies as the fish and snails go nuts and eat everything we put in within a very short space of time. We tried putting some lettuce in our tank the other week and they all demolished the large leaf in about 8 hours. Is lettuce bad for our lovely wet pets??? We keep giving it to them without noticing any fishy issues but I just wanted to check that a heap of lettuce will is not bad for them. Thanks in advance for any advice that you all have
