    Hi eveyone.

welcome, it maybe the winterless north, but im looking for someone to send me some snow too cool things off here !!! i have found the people here to be very helpful, a lot of experiance, and they are always willing to share their knowlage. if you have a question always ask, it can prevent expensive errors
  3. i was just wondering.......... when i was here on a regular basis a couple of years ago, the chat was usally quite busy most evenings, being in a wierd time zone, is it just my timing is off, or is the chat room no longer used much Vicki :bounce:
  4. hehehe, i thought it was bad with fish, try reptiles, i got 1 small snake for my birthday, didnt even get out of the guys house when my bigger half asked if he could get one too, we have progressed to 3 enclosures (the 3rd one isnt finished yet) and looking for a couple of nice jungle pythons at least nice fishies are only around $20 each, a nice snake can be upwards of $5000 snakes are such a nice animal to keep though, the best part about moving from tauranga to brisbane
  5. i thought they probed them, same as snakes, will ask a friend who breeds them a lot and find out for you. i was wrong, very hard to sex, but not hard to come by, $100 for breeding pair.
  6. http://cid-db0575a5f7eddeaa.spaces.live.com/ i cant remember how to post pics, but this link will get you to my space where there are plenty of pics of the snakes please feel free to leave a comment
  7. Hey Hey friends, and those that have arrivedsince i left, well i finally got a snake, 2 of them to be exact, they are a male and female from the same batch. the female " the precious bitch" is about 4ft long now, feeding well on weaner rats. a bit tempermental, but once out of her enclosure ok to handle "fatguts" is the male, and a typical male he is too, im just waiting for the empty beer cans to start piling up in the corner of his enclosure, he eats, sleeps and poops, he is about 5ft long they were hatched 18th nov 06, so are just over a year old, lovely animals to keep andan ideal 1st snake, i havent been bitten yet, and im not looking foward to it, but it will happen in time, its about the best thing about living in auzzie, i can have snakes lol all the best vicki
  8. thankyou guys, it was just a shot in the dark, you never know who is out there, i know of a member from here that has a pet shop at nerang, you never know, just keep asking questions  i once got told there is no such thing as a stupid question, sometimes mine, well.....
  9. repto, there is a club here, they meet once a month, it is a 1 1/2 hr drive, when i got there on sunday i had the wrong information and missed the meeting  did i ever feel stupid with my partner and the two teenage kids in the car. if he is near me let me know, if he dosnt mind i would like to contact him.
  10. i know snakes are not in new zealand, maybe one of the overseas people could give me some helpful advice on spotted pythons, or stimpson pythons. i am getting my first pet snake soon and want to be well prepared and have enough knowlage not to hurt it , or me
  11. i have to learn a lot more about the non venom snakes, and learn how to look after them first, but the first venom one i get would have to be a red bellied black snake, they are so cute. stargazer, i did chemicals, fridge vans are a lot less work, and two trailers takes a lot of the bumps out of the road, a much nicer ride, food service vehicle, the law says no pets, i thought of a little tank, but interstate means import permits at every border crossing, sometimes 4 boarders a day, too much red tape  caryl, its nice to see you, i do prefer the snakes round, flat patches could be endearing though , wok, nice to see you too, i think of you every time i have another rd kill thankyou all for the nice welcome back :bounce:
  12. i am that terrified of those 8 leggerd freeks that my body engages in chemical warfare, i vomit on them, no gag reflex, just a mess to clean up snakes on the other hand are cute and cuddly, as are most reptiles  i cant explain why, just keep the spiders WELL AWAY from me. nice to see you alan
  13. hey guys i am back, with a new and improved identity, i am vicki, previously the second part of travis & vicki, from Tauranga. nice to see previous ( avoiding the word old ) friends, and looking foward to meeting new ones. some of my previous tanks might be found somewhere in the forum. i am living in a suburb named Heritage Park, which is south east of brisbane city, queeensland. not that im home much as i am an interstate truck driver. i still havent aquired a fish tank here yet, but have finally got a snake tank, still waiting on the snake, i still have too much to learn first, but the day is getting closer. i have become an expert on auzzie road kill, as you do, pushing round a 26 mtr b-double, weighing up to 64 ton. i am on msn, and check the irchat here daily, round 8-9pm your time, it will be nice to make contact with you :bounce:
