    Algae

the Placostimous died within a 24 hour period, probably of moving, or maybe it was sick when we got it. They don't need wood

    Algae

Well, we did buy one, but it kind of died on us. For no reason at all. Our water was perfectly fine for it.

Is is very affective to use less than the recommended amount per gallon if you have fear for your fish's health?

    Algae

Will these algae killing products also kill any live plants?

    Algae

It looks kind of like cladophora, but a bit less fuzzy and more flat. Other than that, its the same color as the cladophora.
  9. Dimensions go as follows: Depth: 1 foot, 2 inches Height: 23 inches Front Width: 51 inches Back Width: 50.5 inches It is a bow front tank, and holds 72 gallons We have (and forgive the spelling) three gouromies, three parrots, three severums. (Oh, also one bamboo shrimp, but not often seen at all) The Gouromies and the bamboo shrimp are the smallest of them all, and were recently bought. Its a tropical tank

    Algae

Well, were not sure of the name. Its green, and it can get long at times. It is on the back glass of the tank (where of course we cant get to it) It also grows on the bottom gravel, and the artificial plants.
  11. Previously in our fish tank, we have had a few plants, which we had to remove. They either died, or took over the tank. What are some of the easiest freshwater plants to take care of that will not take over? We also have a fish which we have named Romeo, who likes to dig, will this cause problems with plants? Also, in our local pet store, we have seen live plants that come in a container instead of seen in a tank with a pot, and a small package containing the bulbs for underwater plants. Which are best to get?
  12. Which is easier to take care of? Brackish or Fresh water? What are the pros and cons?

    Algae

We have a 72 gallon tank with about 9 large fish in it, and we have quite the algae problem. One of our solutions was to buy a Plecostomus, but unfortunately, we cant find any big enough at our local pet shops. (If you know of any USA mail order fish companys, please post them as well) So, now we need some way to get rid of all that algae. What are some easy solutions, and good, safer chemicals?
