  1. nope still have good colour but one has gill clamped and is breathing heavily
  2. thanks think I will dose again tomorrow leave for three days and see how that goes, one of my other discus is at the back with clamped fins at the moment
  3. I am treating my commuity tank for flukes and have used 26mls per 100 litres of water - I have adtape I have done one dose and 24 hours done a water change what should I do to continue with the treatment correctly? is the prazi going to be harmful to the clown loaches?
  4. my big white diamond is at the back of the tank pointing upwards and breathing heavily, his gills are not clamped but the whole head looks inflamed and his breathing is laboured, he went from perfectly fine to this overnight - i have done a small water change and checked the parameters this morning all looks fine apart from notrates which were at 40ppm - any ideas???
  5. I have had three discus happily living in an aqua one 980 - unfortunately one died a few weeks back and I replaced him a week later. Now I am having agression issues my blue diamond will not let the new fish out of the corner and chases him, it has been two days now and the new guy is not getting food....any ideas?
  6. I have an aqua one 980 that has been established for sometime and a seramic ph/co2 controller - what I am noting is that the PH keeps on dropping to 6.5 and I have it set at 7 therefore because the PH is dropping all the time the CO2 does not come on enough..any suggestions for keeping the ph up without causing drastic changes?
  7. I am looking to buy some microfolia or other suitable plants that will grow quickly as a cover along the bottom of the tank, I have an aqua one 980 with the standard lighting - any suggestions welcomed
  8. water paramters all OK nitrite/nitrate and ammonia all zero phosphates are a little high though in my tank are three discus, 3 clown loaches and an albino bristlenose all looking OK the white discus is fine during the day but at nights swims sideways and then hides at the bottom of the tank behind the driftwood - might be a bullying issue? can't see any clamping of gills or laboured breathing
  9. I just noticed tonight one of my discus swimming on its side... what to do??

    Discus tankmates

I found platies to be too quick to get at the food as discus like food to drop to the bottom so they can make their way over
  11. My plants with broad leaves are getting annihilated by my albino bristlenose and gold nugget, what are some good plants that grow well and are less likely to succumb to this problem - i am running CO2, usingSera day srops and florena on a weekly basis
  12. did you get rid of it? my phosphates were out of whack when I got my outbreak so I added some phosvec to the filter to bring my readings down, this can happen when you feed in live food. I got hold of some eryo... to clear it up and it took around 3 days but its gone and didn't come back it didn't hurt the fish either I was really worried about my gold spot ... you just need to siphon it all up as it dies so your filter dosen't get overwhelmed
  13. thanks i have also noticed since I started the Co2 injection and adding sera day drops as fertilizers thee is an oily type film at the top of the tank - any ideas?
  14. looks a little like it - how do I get rid/control it?
