  1. soooooo another nite glued to the tank and one of my platties gave birth to a white sac of some sort, couldnt really get a good look, it got gobbled up by part of the food chain. I figured it must be that?
  2. Hmm, I dont see any fish like features to these wee things. I did a spring clean in the tank, because it was in need of a bit of TLC, so there would have been food resting on the bottom. Having said that, one of my platties keeps offering her/its/his??!! belly to all who swim past her, so maybe it is wee fish.
  3. they are really quite beautiful to watch. In fact Greys Anatomy is on and my eyes are in the tank!!!
  4. I have 2 harliquins and they are mimicking each other and seem to be dancing all over the tank. Is this a courtship?
  5. Thanks to all of you! I have had a very long hard look at the tank 1st thing this morning (as you do) and noticed that the numbers of my little wrigglers are dropping as we speak! Its funny though, I thought I had 2 male platties but maybe not!!!!
  6. I hope it is fry and not something terrible! Being this green its hard to know! I didnt notice any eggs at all prior to my spring clean, so I dont think it is the rams.
  7. I have just tried to get a cpl of pics but they are too small to see. Actually, now that I have a good look the numbers are diminishing fast! The bristlenoses that I have, do look different to one another, but dont seem very friendly toward one another. Not sure if they are same sex or if m or f. The small one has a more pronounced head. The big one very flat.
  8. Sorry! I have 2 blue rams (my favs), 2 harliquins, 5 glowlites, 1 neon, 2 glass bloodfins, 2 bristlenoses and 2 big fat platys
  9. Hi all, I have a 34 L Aqua one tank, I recently did the huge clean up in it, replacing a few plants and having a spring clean. Since I have done that, (I also bumped the temp up a bit because we are all freezing here) I have noticed these little tiny white creatures darting around the stones, mainly near the bottom. Are these good creatures or bad? Are they baby fish? They look like fleas but white!!! The fish are slowly picking them off 1 by 1. I have just been feeding them fish flakes and frozen blood worms as a treat! Im very new at this, my tank is only 7 months old. The big fish are in great shape, nothing to report there. Can anyone enlighten me?
  10. thankyou stagger, its looking pretty fab at the moment, but ive been doing the whole h2o changes heaps. I just dont think the tank is big enuff! haheheha
  11. my little aqua one aquarium has a charcol filter in it, the dude in the shop told me to replace these once every 5-6 wks. If my tank is still cycling (which it is) and I change the filters does the cycle start again? does this make sense?

cough, cough, I have a few. 2 baby platys, 1 male ram, 1 neon, 5 glolites, 2 glass bloodfins, 2 harlequins and a bristlenose(although i would love anothr). They are so prettyyyyy.
  14. A gizzy fish club sounds pretty groovy, but just let me get my last baby off to school first!!! hahaha. Yeah im going to keep up with the water changes, Im a bit nervous though, Ive got to go away for 4 days (oh my god, 3 days away from the kids!) and I have left strict instructions for my wee tank. Just hope the water gets changed while Im gone!
  15. OOOps or should i say slow down with the water changes! How do you know when things are just right in there? When the tank has cycled?
