  1. when i got home from school (boarding school) ther other week i noticed a strange leaf like thing protruding from out of the top of my tank. oh no i thought. i ran over to investigat, thinking that some nob had stuck something in there. but to my amazment i found 2 flower stems. i looked in the tank to see that they were from my apponigiton (mega typo) crispus (another one no doubt.)

Its quadtripled in size since i left.

i know this is a question not offen asked on fnzas but here it qoes.

'where do the babys come from' =p

i heard that they usually just self pollinate. also that i could brush a cotton bud over the 2...

but what after that? do little plants just start growing of the flower or what?

shot guys hope you can help me.

if theres lots babys then ill be happy to give a few away. =p

  2. the main species is Galaxiids i think??

i was in the coromandel a few weeks ago. I snorkled up a few rivers. it was amazing!. the rivers are packed with 2 or 3 kinds of galaxiids(yellow, orange, blue. and they all have mottles like discus! you now they shinny lines, =p) thier about 10cms long. Theres mostly just rocks and bog wood on the bottom.

about 20 foot down there were fish about 15-25cm big they were in a cave.

    there were baby eels too.

oh yeah and there were some fish that schooled about 3 foot from the surface they looked a bit like rainbows.

and the fish on the bottom (the main ones) had there eggs stored on the foreheads!! :x

it looked so wierd. i thought they layed them under stones.

the fish look a tinny bit like the salt water triple fins that we have in nz.

im lookin at doing native freshwater and saltwater tanks =\

i dont think youll need a heater. but good water flow. with good water flow

the stream i think was called Little Anne.

  3. hah, just 'oscarate' the tank =p

    dreams?

1:A big fat nean pond (with diving board) no BOMBS alowd

2: this is serious by the way =p. a 6-8 footer, 3-4 deep and 4-5 high.

filled with a few greenbone aka butter fish. there new zealand natives =D

itll have a huge forest of kelp and large pumps that sway the water in the tank, like the underwater currents around rocks... *drools*

    .....

    *falls asleep*

  4. Ive been reading bout them, but theres sumthin im unsure about.

Do they or do they not eat plants???

Some sites say they eat normal fish food, some say theyll eat all the plants in your tank! -_-.
