Hi ppl, I don't know why I can't get the phosphate to reduce, I think i've tried everything. I've placed Aquasonic sponges in my canister filter, then I've made several 20% water changes. I've got a skimmer that's working fine (It's producing heaps of bubbles). I also cleaned my canister filter and the mini reef system from all debris... Tested my tap water with no or very very little trace of phosphate. Does anyone know of any other ways to reduce the phosphate (other than starting from scratch!)??? PO4: 3.0 NO3: 20 cal: 450-500 alk: 160 ph: 8.0-8.1 salt: 1.021 everything else is normal

How can I speed up the coralline algae growth? Can I use Stondium supplements? Would there be any others effects if I use this?

Hi ppl, I've got a major problem with my phosphate (>3ppm) & nitrate (80ppm) levels. I'm going to do a major water change (30%), clean all the gravels, scrub off all the algae, clean the filters and change the sponges. I'm also going to put in more live rocks as I've read that it should reduce the nitrate! Is there anything else I would need to do, other than using any resins?

Hi people, I have a 115 gallon marine tank and currently using 2 x 48" full spectrum & 2 x 48" actinic (blue) fluorescent lights. The height of the tank is approx 24". Is this lighting sufficient for a coral reef tank? Another thing, if I have 3 x full spectrum & 1 actinic lights, will this cause algae problems?
