  1. Hi Stigg. We have a silver tank from the same guy, have had it for about 6mth's now.Afew things to mention. 1- I agree with Stompa,go for the in hood filter. 2-Our one has a piece of thin polycarbonate or similar plastic sheeting to splash protect the in hood lights, check this is so as there seems to be some variances with different models. We have another Sun Sun which doesn't have this. 3-Check Front to Back measurement.Different colours seem to be different. We picked silver instead of Blue/White and ended up with 200L not 230 - 240L.Did not realise until we got home to the fabulously sunny B.O.P.Where it never rains. 4-Glass thickness is not great so must assume its probably toughened glass.Personal choice here. We are happy with ours and will probably buy more in future. Cheers Brian.S. PS Check his heater prices.

  4. Hi,We`ve had a pleco in with malawis for a long time now no problems. We have found the size of a mature pleco is such that compared to most malawis the tank looks out of scale, this in a 4 foot tank if your tank is bigger may not be a problem. We are now trying Bristlenoses and so far so so good
  5. Hi Evil,I`m in Te Puke and have astand and hood made some years ago for a 4 foot tank still in use.it`s a bit different than your design but you`re welcome to have a look even if it helps u decide what u don`t want.I presume u can P/M me to get my details.Cheers Brian.S.

    BROWN ALGAE

 Hi Ho young Daniel.Yes I know who you are,who can forget an empty bag full of wet water. Thanks for your suggestion re Bristlenoses.Query? Can you expand on lack of algae in your tanks,I thought you were running 8 PH,or is it the coral to increase hardness that may be the problem?Hows my favourite 800L tank? Cheers Brian.S.

    BROWN ALGAE

Hi,Can somebody help?We are running an Aqua One 620 (90L) set up for Malawis circa 8.2 PH and 16 GH.We have Aragonite and Coral Rock to do so.The problem is we have a build up of brown algae type formation on the tank walls and the coral.I have a feeling the problem may be caused by the type of light tube of which there are two(standard A/One)If it is not harmful can live with it, but is it?Any help appreciated.Cheers Brian.S
