  • Common Bully

    • The Common bully has a tapered head with faint 'cat whiskers' under the eye.  The body is stocky, stiff and dark brown to sandy, with rgular blotches along the sides and 7-8 dorsal filaments.  The male dorsal is orange.  This fish grows to 10cm in length.   

    • Scientific Name: Gobiomorphus cotidianus
    • Habitat: Lives in variable habitats throughout New Zealand, including lakes
    • Tank Age/Maturity: Minimum recommended tank size footprint of 60cm x 30cm per fish..
    • Threatened Species: N/A
    • Marine Stage: Yes - can landlock
