Banded Kokopu
With a stocky and fat body shape and large head, eye and mouth the Banded kokopu is brown to dark oliver in colour, with thin, vertical, amber stripes that peter our top and bottom. Commonly reaches 20cm in length and on occasions can reach 26cm.

- Habitat: Mostly found at low elevation, can be fare inland, the Banded Kokopu has a widespread distribution living in small to medium sized, gentle tannined streams with much cover, swampy areas
