    • Large and tubular in shape when young, as they matture they become very stocky and far and as large adults also deeper bodied.  The Koara has a flattened pointy head - slightly shark like, and small eyes.  This fish has greenish/olive markings on a grey or silver background - the markings are bold on juveniles and finer on adults.  Size ranges from 16 - 18cm.

    • Habitat: Widespread distribution, can be far inland, in very fast flowing clear water, bouldery streams, forest cover
