Torrentfish
The Torrentfish has a very stiff and solid, yet streamlined body with varying colouration; grey, salt and pepper or browny-orange. The head is very tapered in profile and wide based, with the jaw undercut and eyes high set. Commonly reaches 10 - 12cm in length and occasionally up to 20cm.

- Habitat: Widely found throughout NZ the Torrentfish lives in very fast flowing, shallow water with highly mobile gravel substrate
