stagger lee Posted October 30, 2005 Report Share Posted October 30, 2005 Hi people, Today i started using melafix as one of my female barbs has been getting too much attention from the males and has developed a sore spot on her side. Anyway, on the bottle it says to treat for a week then do a water change. Will this be ok or should i be making water changes during the treatment? livebearer_breeder Posted October 30, 2005 Report Share Posted October 30, 2005 it decipates over time by itself, ive never treated melafix for a week, ive always removed the fish, or placed it in a breeding net, treated it directly, left it for a few hours, then returned to tank, and if neccesary done it again the next day. Interfecus Posted November 5, 2005 Report Share Posted November 5, 2005 Even pure air is carcinogenic. Don't worry too much about fish meds. If you search for "alternafix" on the forum you should find a DIY equivalent of melafix. I put it in the water in the normal dose level for melafix.
