Silverdollarboy2 94 Report post Posted November 1, 2017 My Giant kokopu hasn't been eating for the past week or two. Nothing has changed in or around the tank & I'm feeding the same food. Any thoughts on why this is happening?
kiwiraka 55 Report post Posted November 1, 2017 How does the fish look? Swollen stomach, stringy poo? Could be internal parasites. But im not good with diseases.

kiwiraka 55 Report post Posted November 1, 2017 What are your parameters? I've found Giant Kokopu go off food quite easily if nitrates creep up. Try some live food.
Silverdollarboy2 94 Report post Posted November 1, 2017 Will get water tested next time I'm in town, I do a 75% water change weekly. What live food do you recommend?
kiwiraka 55 Report post Posted November 1, 2017 Earthworms are always a good option. Or mealworms if your lfs keeps them in stock. 1 Silverdollarboy2 reacted to this
Shilo 91 Report post Posted November 2, 2017 Mines also gone off its regular food. Could be change of season with the water warming up. It does this now and again so not too worried about it (Nitrates <10ppm before water change & no ammonia or nitrites). But a change of food especially live food gets it eating now and again, currently its earthworms. They have to be wiggling right past its nose before it decides to eat. The fish is healthy and apart from not eating hasn't changed its behaviour at all so not a problem. The previous times it stopped eating for a few weeks it would suddenly go on a binge & eat everything in sight (which is why I don't have anymore small fish in the tank)...... 2 Silverdollarboy2 and kiwiraka reacted to this
