Welcome from The Netherlands

Hello Hobbyist,

I'm 56 years young male, married, child and have since childhood aquariums.

Before my teenage I had different kind of tropical fishes.

When I was a teenager I had Killifish until I became 22.

Then I had Cichlids from Middle America, mostly Chiclasoma.

Since 10 years I keep livebearers, mostly not so common species like Ameca, Ataeniobius, Chapalichthys, Characodon, Heterandria, Ilyodon, Limia, Neoheterandria, Poecilia, Xenotoca and Xiphophorus.

I've 10 aquariums in an apartment, seperate in different rooms.

In the future we going buy a house with garden and then I hope 1 room for keeping the fishes.

The living room will have a 4 meter aquarium with the Angelfish.

Here in the Netherlands we have many communities and my favorite is http://www.Poecilia.nl.

We have a 2 monthly meeting were everyone who have breeding fishes exchanging with each other.

In the Netherlands we are famous for the planted aquariums.

The Netherlands is a small country and therefore never been a long time on the road for visiting local meetings and expositions.

I hope to learn more about how NZ citizens keep their fishes and will be helpfull with questions.

With fish greetings from the other side of the world.

Henk Plomp
