Gold nugget = either L018, L177, or L085 (and possibly L081)

Planet catfish lists them to grow to 35cm

Aquarium life has them at around 20cm

Dogbreedinfo.com (yes seriously :P ) say around 20cm

AquaHobby.com claims 35cm

Seriouslyfish.com states that for the official description the largest recorded was 22.41cm

Fishkeeping.co.uk goes for 35cm

just bout every site says they are extremely long lived (25 years plus) and slow growing so don't be surprised if we eventually hear about larger ones than this

offically all three have been listed as Baryancistrus xanthellus, making the L numbers obsolete, the 3 different versions are technically just different pattern varieties.

First of all there is L81 and Baryancistrus Xanthellus different species as listed by the ICZN, both Xanthellus variants will attain the same size, having had ''L177" outgrow my "L18" rather quickly and exceeding the original PC length of a mere 18cm you will notice they have since rectified this by combining them as 35cm. There are more large species of Plec here than small, i would suggest research.
