Nice pic's Jason.

Has anyone seen any of the Whistling Tree frogs with green markings in NZ? I've seen some on the web & they look quite cool. Hopefully one day soon, albino Whistlers will also show up...

I think these little frogs could get by in smaller terrariums, but we're in the process of setting up an Exo Terra 60 x 60 x 45. It's just about done, just waiting for the water to clear & the moss to establish, then the frogs will be introduced.

Didn't take them long to realise these plastic containers is where their food comes from. This one has already taken a fly has it crawled out via a hole in the lid...and was waiting for more.

This trio were just waiting for the flies to come to them...

Cheers, Andrew.

those mosses, are they ones found in forests here?

what sort of conditions do they require?

thnk mine is just xmas moss. i did have a native one in there but it died off when temp got up around 25C.

so in these indoor frog-quariums do they croak or is that something they do more when outdoors?

could you keep a frog and a fire bellied newt together?

May hear the odd chuckle when vacuming or have motorsport on tv :sml2:

but they hardly ever fully croak in most indoor enclosures.

The frog will probably eat the newt.

"Same size as them"... must of been rather hungry!

The only time i have seen frogs trying to eat siblings is when they are overly hungry. Like havnt been fed for a day or more .. and it is becoming matter of life and death. They are very resourceful, if really hungry they will pick off tadpoles too. Lots of food = no worries. They prefer crickets to siblings. Bell frogs possibly worse for it but they are not bad either if provided with adequate food.
