I split some firewood today and found a whole lot of Huhu Grubs  .

So I figured that Elvis the Eel would like them, yep I was right :happy1: .

Now; we've had Elvis for about 4 years since he was an Elver, about the thickness of a shoelace, and he's become quite friendly :happy2: .

My son took 4 videos and a few pics that we thought you would like to see :spop:

First video: http://youtu.be/vZC7kR9Wj8o

Second Video: http://youtu.be/1Ct1M8nIx6U

Third video: http://youtu.be/-yi339Hm9uM

Forth video: http://youtu.be/q5bbI7pEQvU

Enjoy :spop:

The vids were taken in the pond with an underwater camera. The ponds only 1000L so evetually we'll either need a bigger pond or another big tank. The tank will have to go in the garage though, cause the wife won't let me have any more tanks in the house.

very cool! Clearly one can fit a lot of huhu grubs in one small eel.

Impressed that you have raised him up from a little shoelace. Was he in the pond the whole time?

Forgive me, I don't remember seeing photos of your pond, could you re-post some? Looks lovely and natural under water :)

Elvis has lived in the pond his entire life, but we didn't see him for the first couple of years. We found him again as a foot long eel when the pond got a long overdue makeover. We were very surprised to say the least.

The Inanga have always adapted really well to being handfed, and one of the bullys is good as well. But Elvis just decided one day to start coming out for hand feeding, I guess he got to the size where he needed the extra food.

This is the first time we've taken photos and vids of the pond because we've recently got an underwater camera, mainly for diving, but now I see the possibilities for my tanks as well.
