I think this is so cool, but how long do you think it will take for plants to grow like that. Keep in mind that I am talking about just a normal running tank with normal lighting. No special lighting and co2.

edited to add pic is from aquascapingworld.com

I reckon you can achieve that without Co2 in about 3 months...though you may need a little bit of ferts. Also it seems they are using low - med light, as alot of the glosso is growing upwards.

Patience is the key, along with good layout design.

Stem plants still grow quite fast without CO2 but the lower ones will take a bit longer I think. I found it hard to wait so added more plants to fill in the gaps.

About 3 months I can get out of a single stem of ambulia before it gets too long and drapes over the surface, then I usually trim it back for it to sprout from lower and plant the cutting. Then i might get another 2 or 3 months depending on the quality of the cutting and the root.

You should probably ask to have this moved to the plants section where the plant buffs will find it.

Its a beautiful tank. Some of the plants we can not get here. I find that while high light is needed for glosso which is the plant in the front of the pictured tank, that if I put mosses in (which also look to be in the picture) they don't do well under the high light. I find that I have to have a plant growing above them which blocks out a lot of the T5 lighting.
