A sad weekend

Recommended Posts

ttk. so sorry to hear about your little friend and I hope everything turns out well.

I think I know how you must be feeling because a couple of months ago we had to put our 8 year old chocolate burmese Vincent Vega to sleep because he had kidney failure.

I wish our pets could live as long as we do but sadly thats not the way life is.

What ever happens you can always remember so many good times you have had together. Vincent still brings a smile to my face every day...

good luck

Karlos

TTK I fully understand what you are going through having had to recently (3wks ago) put my boy (Bull Mastiff) down with lymphoma Cancer as well. We only had 8 weeks with him once diagonised so I envy your year with Katy. He was my 3rd child and I miss him so much every day, but he is in a better place where he has no pain and can be himself again!

It a comfort to know that here are so many people out there who love animals as much as we do and understand what we go through.

My heart felt thoughts are with you and yours at this time!!!

So sorry for your loss.

This was sent to me when I lost my dear Harley 8 weeks ago so thought I would share with you.

IF IT SHOULD BE

It should be that I grow frail and weak,

and pain should keep me from my sleep.

Then you must do what must be done,

for this, the last battle can't be won.

You will be sad - I understand,

don't let your grief then stay your hands.

For this day, more than all the rest,

your love and friendship stand the test.

We've had so many happy years,

what has come can hold no fears.

You'd not want me to suffer so,

when the time comes - please let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend,

Only stay with me until the end.

And hold me firm and speak to me,

Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you too will see,

it is a kindness that rests with me.

Although my tail its last has waved,

from pain and suffering I've been saved.

Don't grieve that I leave you,

who has loved me through & through.

We've been so close - we two these years,

don't let your heart hold any tears.

I lost a special friend today

the kind you can't replace,

and looking at his empty bed

I still can see his face.

I see the endless energy

the sparkling pussy eyes,

Not the tired, fragile friend

I had to bid goodbye.

I know he's in a special place

our Lord has for such friends,

Where meadows, fields & flowers

help make them strong and whole again.
