does anyone still have zebra plecs in NZ? Seeing as how they aren't on the importable list now, if there are some still around perhaps their owners could pool them with well-known breeders, or let them go on breeding loan. They are such an awesome wee fishy it would be a shame if they disappeared here entirely (if this hasn't already occurred)

Id say that they are pretty much gone from NZ, unless theres someone out there with one or two and are keeping quiet so they dont get hounded with people wanting to buy them. Then again, it wouldnt suprise me if some importer has got a colony out in the *back room* trying to breed them up and in a few years we will suddenly see hundreds of them swarming the shops.....

Yeah there're definitely some out there. They're not even that great plecs though, they hide most of the time.

I'm aware of a couple of Zeb owners. both have numbers but I don't think they are pooling resources.

there seems no reason why we can't have some on the market one day.

Hummingbird- perhaps your view of these guys would change if they were in your tank, having said that I would be happy to have the L134 leopard frog as an alternative.
