Please note the below is a direct copy of an email issued by MPI. Biosecurity has amended the Plants for Planting import health standard (formally importation of Nursery Stock), effective 15 September 2025. Plants for Planting – Import Health Standard (15 September 2025) Urgent amendment to Plants for Planting (155.02.06) The Plants for Planting import health standard (IHS) has been urgently amended as Coleonema has been identified as a host of Xylella fastidiosa. Coleonema now falls under the Coleonema schedule in the IHS. This change has been reflected on the Plants Biosecurity Index. Minor amendment to Plants for Planting (155.02.06) The Plants for Planting import health standard has been amended as follow: Vaccinium tissue culture (options 2 & 3) have had the additional measures for Phytophthora ramorum fixed, as these were not translated correctly during the reformat of the IHS in August 2025. The approved countries for Alstroemeria were reworded to make it clear that there is also an option to import tissue cultures from India and South Africa. We have clarified when a permit and PEQ will be required for hosts of Xylella fastidiosa and phytoplasmas. We have clarified this in subclauses 2.4.1, 2.4.3, 2.5.2, and 2.5.3 and all relevant schedules. We have unsuspended all commodity types of Chlorophytum and Dacrydium and have unsuspended whole plants and cuttings of Cymbidium. We have also fixed minor typos, grammar errors and missing links. If you have any questions, please email the Live Plants team at [email protected]. Requirement documents for importing nursery stock

Sad to hear customers are still having issues a year after the first complaint was made here.
-
Haven't had a good experience with Fishly. Ordered 3 different plants from them on trademe, they sent 2 as 1 was out of stock, I said I would wait for the stock. It had been like 2 months and still no plants arrived, so I emailed to ask for a refund. I had to email them 3 times as they just wouldn't reply. Then they said they had refunded me but I emailed them a printscan of my trademe account and it showed they had not refunded it back to trademe on the date they said. So they ask for my bank account but there is still no refund 3 months later and they are not answering my emails now. It is only $3.99, but its the principle. Not going to buy from them again.

I have 3 Golden SAEs needing a new home as they have outgrown the tank they’re in at the school I work at. Would love it if I could trade for other fish to build up the stock of fish in the tank. In search of any of the following: dwarf chain loaches, Otocinclus, Cardinal, rummy nose, Congo or diamond tetras. pick up only

Her book on Native fish aquariums was what got me thinking about starting a native aquarium hobby. I had a small tank with tropical fish, but my lack of interest in them meant I wasn't keeping completely on top of their maintenance. When I was flicking through the book, I saw the opportunity to make an easy-maintenance microfauna tank, so I stripped the aquarium of it's mechanics and set it up with aquatic plants, snails and shrimp. The 70L tank I am considering would house a few bullies and koura. I would like to add some greenery that can withstand the shredding of the koura, so does anyone know about any local spots to gather Koura-resistant plants?

Hi and welcome. Someone else with lots of excellent advice would be Stella McQueen. She has written several books about native fish keeping but I don't think she is on these forums anymore. She can be found on Facebook though under her own name and New Zealand Native Fish.
