      The green pufferfish syn. Tetraodon fluviatilis is also from Southern Asia and  lives in fresh and brackish  rivers, estuaries, lakes and flood plains. It grows up to a length of 17 cms and has a green body with a white underbelly and a metallic yellow or green top covered in black spots, bulging eyes which are metallic blue colour. This species is primarily carnivorous so eats the usual molluscs, crustaceans, invertebrates, and some small fish. This fish is generally peaceful, but becomes more aggressive as it ages.
