    • Features: Creeping perennial, low growing herb, with variable form/size in different habitats. Stems are thick/fleshy, root at the nodes and are usually 1 to 2 cm long if emergent but may grow to 20 cm long when submerged in static water. Leaves are opposite, 2 to 16 mm long, 5 mm wide, ovate to elliptic in shape, bright green and fleshy with short petioles. Flowers have 3 petals and sepal, are inconspicuous, solitary, sessile occuring alternately up the stem in the axils of leaves.
