  1. Equestrian, namely dressage. Dont compete though
  2. I got a rescue kitten when she was just 8 weeks old, she was found and hand raised from 4 weeks, so had very little time with mum. I had exactly the same problem as you do, with her peeing on beds, and rugs on the floor. You must keep the litter tray (s) spotless. I found putting vinegar or lemon juice on spots was a good way of discouraging using that spot again, and to mask odour. Good luck and dont give up, it took my kitten until she was at least 6months to grow out of this.
  3. Eggs still there they are clear, is this good?? Still dont hold much hope of survival as they are in a community tank, but parents are being very protective. What time frames should I expect between the stages of development? Thanks
  4. Came home, looked at tank and thought what the .. :-? . is that on the filter inlet??? Turns out 2 of my angels have paired and are busy at it! 8) ! Just had to share, dont hold much hope of them surviving, but cool to come home to after a fairly crappy day at work. 400 lt tank, 10 gold marble angels and 4 platnium
  5. False alarm  , the spinny bit broken, just pulled it apart
  6. Not 100% sure, but was working, now is not. Unplugged it from multi box, plugged straight into wall..and nothing. Typical, if she'd done one of the heaters or anything less expensive, i'd just replace it.
  7. Yip, she's a very sweet little terror  . One of my fluval 404's has just stoped working and on inspection, there appears to be teeth marks on the power cord. Is this fixable and if so does anyone know someone who could do it??
  8. Is there any safe mosquito repellents that i can use in the house with fish tanks?? Automatic sprays, plug in day and night thingies?? etc... Am being driven insane by being constantly bitten by mossies (apparently i'm quite tasty! ). I dont like the idea of breathing in insecticides  so any other alternative would be good too!
  9. Until they germinate I dont think lighting would be an issue. I would be trying them on damp, not soaked sand. Just my ideas! Do you know how long they should take to germinate?
  10. Would you like one of the ones you gave me back barrie?? Your more than welcome
  11. I have a brown, F1 imported from Germany, great looking fish and very healthy. would post a photo if i could remember how! looks similar to firenzenz's pic
  12. Excuse my ignorance  but what does universal reciever mean??
  13. Thanks for all the advice everyone. I do hope i dont have every man and his dog trying to guess what i have (my little bro, now 15, had to have spinal surgery about 18 months ago and at the specialist app at starship they brought in all the trainiees to try and guess his condition). Mum asked me to go with them so that i could ask any questions she forgot, and perhaps remember things she didn't, although she did take notes. I will make sure to keep all letters (and envelopes which i hadn't thought about). Trying to think of someone to take with me. My referral to the eye specialist has already gone awol, but my gp (who has no idea about the condition) is on to it. Carly...whats your blood type, found out mine is AB- which i understand is also very rare,,,I always knew i was special, guess now i how just how special
  14. Hi all, after having been recently diagnosed with a rare (1 in 160,000) genetic condition I am courious as to what others may have...or if there is anyone else out there with my condition. I will start by describing my condition: it is called pseudoxanthoma elasticum, and as i said is genetically inherited (although i dont know of anyone else in my family who has this). Basically speaking it is a build up of calcium in the elastic fibres (connective tissue) throughout the body. This can lead to vision loss, heart disease (strokes, angina and heart muscle disease). There is no real preventative treatment available, although i understand if problems arise they may be treated, but i dont know this for sure yet. I have specialist appointments set up (welcome me to the public health system) but am wondering if anyone has any advice on dealing with doctors etc?
  15. haha, but thanks for all you help...hopefully tomorrow will bring good times
