  1. ce-mix do a range of products.i used quick patch, multi bond and aqua stop.to colour it they make oxides .i used all these over polystyrene.mix up a slurry paint it on with a paint brush, many light coats.no need to seal it thats what the aqua stop doesthese were designed to do water tanks and ponds i think, cant remember what was on the containers.mine has been in with my africans for about 3 years.no problems at all. only issue i had,and it was my mistake, not the products. was put plenty of coats on to get a good thickness as when a rock or something damages it you get a white hole showing.i only did about 4 coats,in hindsight i should have doubled that number.all availiable at bunnings.
  2. I haven't kept angels, but I would be careful as when the angels got bigger - they would be likely to go after the dwarf gouramis. in saying this if the angels are small when you get them they will hopefully see the gouramis as tank mates and not something to hassle.
  3. What/who else is in the tank, can you advise who his tankmates are, and what you have in the tank, ie driftwood. is there anything that is sharp that he has brushed against?
  4. and if you are going to be putting cichlids in the tank the bigger the better - the wider you can go the better espically if you are going to be putting rockwork in the tank. and if you have rocks the stronger the glass the better.
  5. Also do you have bristlenoses? or Plecos? Bristlenose males grow bristles females don't, but plecos don't grow bristles at all and grow to a much larger size.

  7. the latin name for these fish is Trichogaster trichopterus - they are commonly called Gold, blue or three spot gourami. they get to around 10 cm in length. are you sure that you have a female? look at the bottom fin -the end where it meets the tail - is this rounded or does it end in a point? if rounded you have a female - if not it is a male. if you go to profiles and advise where abouts you are in the country - we might be able to suggest where you could find a companion for your fish.
